Here I talk about setting goals and I talk specifically about using goals as stepping stones to get to our ultimate goal or destination. After becoming paralyzed from the shoulders down, I had to create new goals to move my life forward and find the happiness and fulfillment I needed in a career.
Through many years living with high level paralysis I have learned many things, most importantly, hiring caregivers as they are paramount to my health, success, and happiness. In the beginning I found no real guidance or help on this subject, so in this video and in my book Powering Through Paralysis, How to Survive and Thrive with Disability or Disease, I provide tips and insights on hiring the best caregivers!

One of the most important things I learned living with paralysis is that the lesson of patience comes very often and becomes part of your life almost 24/7. By setting goals it gives us the opportunity to test ourselves by undertaking things we would like to accomplish whether a new career, opening a business, to working on ourselves through meditation, treating others equally, and looking for our higher purpose. This video will help in all of these areas and viewers will come away with something helpful.
One of the traits a lot of us experience when we first become disabled or are knocked down from a horrific disease, is that we can lose our sense of self and especially our self-confidence as we tend to gauge our "net worth" to be less afterwards. This video will share how I overcame my car accident which left me paralyzed and went on to be confident and outgoing by some simple steps that can get anyone back on track and build their confidence back up!
After my car accident and seeing my body start to atrophy after building it up through many years of sports and athletic competitions, I found myself slipping into a negative mindset- understandably. I found that there were silver-linings in my life even though on the surface, living with paralysis from the shoulders down looked quite daunting. As the years went by I found that the more often I took a positive approach and kept my mind positive that good things came and overshadowed any negativity even living with paralysis. This video will help you understand that any situation, regardless of how dark things appear, can be a positive and uplifting experience as well.
This video goes into the ADA and the requirements that buildings after 1993 are required to make to make wheelchair accessible. It also discusses ways that individuals can make contribution in their community to make their environment more accessible for all.

The video provides some helpful things to know when we're approaching a career and the opportunities that exist to one that can identify the trends that affect your business before your competition. What separates the great entrepreneurs from the run of the mill managers. It also has helpful hints to get noticed in your workplace and how to move your career forward in the direction you desire.
The video goes into detail of my early teens to early twenties boating and waterskiing on the Chesapeake and how we tried to recapture that experience by buying a boat after I was paralyzed. For boat lovers or those just looking to capture those experiences again that they enjoyed prior to their injury. Until one takes that chance once more to enjoy the things they did prior to their disability or disease, they will never know whether it was possible to recapture that dream or magic. Not all things will be the same and the adaptations involved will help determine whether it makes sense post disability or not.
This video wraps up the 16 chapters and how we can use tools in our lives to move ourselves forward after facing the greatest challenge of our lives.
